Garden & Grounds
The Gardens at Brympton House are Grade 2* listed and provide a stunning backdrop for your wedding day.
Outdoor Civil Ceremonies take place in the Temple which is situated on the South Terrace and overlooks the Victorian boating lake on one side and the majestic house on the other. Blessings, humanist and Hindu wedding celebrations can choose between a variety of delightful outdoor spaces for their ceremony – including the Temple. In the past ceremonies have been held on staging by the lake, within the Victorian walled garden and on the croquet lawn.
The Gardens encompass 33 acres of stunning parkland and more formal planting. These are the key areas:
The Marquee Lawn
Positioned to the north of the 18th century rill and overlooking the Victorian walled garden and Brympton House beyond the lawn is large and level and has vehicular access. The largest marquee to date sat 1000 guests.
The Victorian Walled Garden
Once the centre of fruit and vegetable production on the Victorian estate today the garden is planted out in formal boxed hedge parterres with a central open space which has hosted a series of stunning mandaps over the years.
The Croquet Lawn
Overlooking the boating lake and the South Terrace the Croquet Lawn provides a magnificent space for after ceremony drinks and relaxation including croquet, giant jenga and connect4 and space hoppers!
The Boating Lake
Home to our resident swans – Gus and Gertie – a walk around the lake provides a stunning panorama of the Restoration South Front of Brympton House and makes for a wonderful photo op for the happy couple as well!
